I Am not Asking a Silly Question About TAKS



Commissioner Scott says is it "silly" to ask for an explanation of the changing standards on state TAKS tests. But such questions are far from silly.



Lowered Bar Means More Students Passed the TAKS this Year



The state just announced that more students passed the TAKS this year, but the Houston Chronicle found that they significantly lowered the bar on what they consider passing.



Schools' Higher Ratings Might Be Smoke and Mirrors



Our state leadership may be taking credit for schools that appeared to suddenly improve during an election year.
