He's right about Texas politics. And also left.

[Readers can find the story in the Daily Buzz section of the Quorum Report.] From the QR story: HE 19 candidate James White this evening described as “a desperate lie” the disclosure by the Tuffy Hamilton campaign of student and parental complaints against White of inappropriate and sexual references made while teaching at the Livingston [...]

All Texas politics all the time from the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle

A ruling affecting health care, including contraception, for some 130,000 low-income Texas women probably won’t come until late this year as Planned Parenthood and the state of Texas plan for mid-October oral arguments in their legal fight.  The state is appealing a preliminary injunction that U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel granted  six weeks ago preventing [...]

Will You Renew Your Support by Making a Contribution to Support My Legislative Work Today?

As I do every legislative cycle, I am asking my supporters to consider renewing their support by making a contribution to support my legislative work.

Your contribution will go towards supporting my legislative team and ongoing community outreach.

My staff and I are reevaluating our legislative program for this coming session now that the elections are over and more than a quarter of my Democratic colleagues were defeated.  However, there is one thing that will remain constant - I will do my best to be a clear, reasonable, and strong voice for making Texas a great place to raise our children.

In the next legislative session, I will fight for a budget that maintains our investment in our schools, universities, and critical health care services. You can also count on me to continue advancing a progressive agenda that includes promoting alternative energy and conservation.

With a budget shortfall of 30% ($28 billion) and legislative redistricting, next session will not be easy. But two things that drive me are a belief that one person can make a difference, and that you and my constituents deserve excellent political representation.

Thanks for being a part of my team.

You may contribute online here, or send a contribution to "Mike Villarreal Campaign" at P.O. Box 11607, Austin, Texas, 78711.
